ARTIST WATCH: GRAY MALIN

Now that Summer is 'officially' over, I am even more inspired to find pieces to hang in my house that keep the spirit of the season alive.

Gray Malin is just the person to do that for me. His works are so full of color, and are light and bright, but have actual subject matter in them- rather than obscured and over processed, like pieces that sometime turn photos in to abstracts.

I just love the use of light in his works, and love the way that he/they capture "reality".

Check out more of his work here, and you can read more about his process and him here.

What do you think of his images?

Do they make you long for Summer too?

ARTIST WATCH: RAY TURNER

Ray Turner- such a fun artist. He does mostly portrait work, and they are all so interesting. He does a wonderful job catching the person's personality- if it is who they actually are, or who he wants you to see them as, I am not sure- and that is a rare talent.

He does a great job if being expressive with his pieces- each of his brushstrokes seems so deliberate, like they were all on purpose.

Anyways, you can see more of Mr. Turner's work here, check it out, its pretty neat!
What do you think?

Would you want him to paint your portrait?

ARTIST WATCH: PAUL FERNEY

Paul Ferney is someone I was surprised by. His works are slightly more traditional that my usual taste, but I like them all the same.

I enjoy his subject matter, I like this color palettes and honestly, I enjoy how he sort of channels the impressionists in his work (which is very new for me).

There is not much more I can say about Mr Ferney- so if you want to see more of his work, check him out here.
What do you think of his work?

Do you like his style? Does it remind you of the impressionists?
