LOVING LATELY

Reading: Well, I was just finishing up The Magicians, for Book Club. Now I am now getting a leg up on October's Book Club book. It seems like I barely have enough time to read our one book each month- with work and puppy and life and what not- that Book Club books are my only real reading for the month... That being said, I am trying to squish in a quick read- and read The Giver before the movie comes out (which I am not sure if I will even see).

Watching: The Walking Dead Season 4 just got added to Netflix and I have been binge watching it all weekend! Also-Happy Valley. Another Netflix show- this one centers around a lady cop and her life in England- SOOO good!

Listening to: Oldies! Well- not exactly... I recently updated the music that I have on my phone, so it I finally don't have to listen to the same 3 playlists over and over again while I am at work. I dug up a few old gems- and I am LOVING IT!

Thinking about: Traveling... Some places far and some near! We are talking of going to Florida maybe in February or March- and then our far travels would be saving up for the Honeymoon!

Loving: My Pup! If that was not obvious by my Instagram video that I posted last week- I don't know how to make it more obvious! This pup loves Ice Cream SOOO much! Whenever I go to get myself a treat, he thinks it is for him now...

Looking forward to: Some time to rest! We have had a lot going on recently- friend's weddings, my Mr. is marathon training (so he is ALWAYS running around- literally), bachelorette parties, etc.- so I am excited for a weekend to stay at home and relax! I barely remember what that feels like!

Making me happy: The little things. Last weekend was SO nice here, and knowing what we have coming for us in the next few months (I cringe thinking about all of that snow!)- I really begin to cherish every warm day we can get this time of year. Also, my Mr. and I started a little re-do project together making over some old bookshelves that we got from a friend. It's always nice being able to spend some time together!

What have you been loving lately?

Are you looking forward for anything in particular?

IT'S FRIDAY AND I AM:

READING:

Well, of course I'm reading our latest book club pick, Call the Midwife. But I'm also just about to start a book for my local public book club (Books and Bars) called The Devil's Snake Curve. It's about baseball. I like watching baseball on occasion, but I've been putting this one off, for fear that it won't grab me like some of the others. I'd also rather read Call the Midwife :)

WATCHING:

Summer can be a bleak time for American television, but it's also a great time to dip into those shows you always wanted to watch but never did, and can now binge on thanks to Netflix. I don't have any of those shows right now, but I am, as ever, keeping up with Pretty Little Liars.

Also recently some friends and I started binge watching a British show called Playing It Straight (there is an American season as well, we might watch it, but after the freedom of British TV censorship, we're afraid it might disappoint). Anyway, if you're fortunate enough to live in the UK, you can watch it on Channel 4 (or 4OD). And if you, like us, are not that fortunate, it's all on the Youtubes.

LISTENING TO:

So much Mika these days. The weather has been perfect for rolling the windows down and really belting it out. Mika delivers so many fun poppy dance songs that will get you all the way through rush hour. Promise.

LOVING:

Biking to work! I did it twice this week, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. And I feel less like I exercised since I was doing it in the time it took me to get to work. Brilliant. I also thought biking during mid-day in the summer would be a nightmare, but thanks to these mild summers, it's not so bad. If you can do it, I'd highly recommend it!

LOOKING FORWARD TO:

I'll be doing/observing a significant amount of "crafting" this weekend. Now, sometimes I think that word has some slightly negative connotations, but lemme tell you what I'll be up to. Saturday I'm going to be mostly supervising some paper based crafts, initiated by a friend who thought she didn't even like crafting. But we got her on Pinterest, and now there's no stopping here. We'll probably be making these or these.

Then on Sunday, it will be Team YouMeOui tackling the napkins for my 30x30 fancy dinner party (which is now scheduled for September), dip-dye style. I think there will be many other things Sina also wants to dip dye, so we will have a full day of fun. I was going to inject a "die"/"dye" pun in there, but couldn't quite get there. Either way, exciting!

Anything you've come across and are just dying (did I get it?) to share?? We'd love to hear about it! Otherwise, have a great weekend!!

7 PINS I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH OF

Pinterest is the best place to find inspiration + get lost in. I find myself falling down the rabbit hole nearly every day at work- (don't tell my boss!) and it really is full of anything and everything you could ever want to see know about, see, learn, ect.

Here are a few of the Pins that I cannot get enough of lately.

HARRY POTTER: LOOKING BACK

So this past weekend some friends and I participated in a Harry Potter themed pub quiz, first prize being a fair amount of money. As a result, we studied quite heavily. We divided up the books, and all watched as many of the movies as we could make time for. Consequently I've got POTTER on the BRAIN! Even though the quiz is over. It struck me today that doing an entry about HP could be a great way for me to decompress and reminisce with a wider audience.

Because, in case anyone has forgotten, Harry Potter was a truly brilliant series. I've never been very into the extra information J.K. Rowling has divulged outside of the series, regarding the backgrounds of the characters or other personal details. I'm a bit of a purist in that way. However, if you are interested in that, there is the Pottermore website, which does include a new short story that I mentioned a couple weeks ago (but admittedly still haven't read).

Rachel Dratch as Harry was everything
So to avoid saying too much, I'm just going to share a bunch of Harry Potter stuff I've found and I'm loving lately. A brief look online can show you that there is an overwhelming amount of stuff out there, but this stuff is a little more subtle and clever, in my opinion. I also heartily recommend going back and watching all of the movies (and read the books) because the kids were adorable, and the books were even funnier than I remembered. Enjoy!

Adorably clever keyring

Bookmarks, so cute!

They just look so comfy

Because fun pint glasses are the best

Ok, I'll lay off the Harry Potter for now, but thank you all for coming along for the ride! Have a great day!

There are SO many neat things this store has to offer: cards, home goods, trinkets and knick-knacks (that get me EVERY dang time! Seriously, I cant leave there without spending money) and not to mention the beautiful paper goods. Seriously, their wrapping paper selection is out of this world awesome!!!

PINK PINK PINK PINK PINK

I cannot get the color pink out of my mind lately. As you may have seen on Instagram, it has been on my mind for awhile now. Not that that is a bad thing- I mean look at it, it is B.E.A.-UTIFUL- but it seems to be following me wherever I go, and taunting me.

Honestly, if I were to buy all of the things that I keep seeing, and that I fall in love with that are pink, I would be really, really broke.

Here are a few of the things I have found recently, and thought that I should maybe pass them along to you guys and gals. Who knows, you could be having the same pink haunting experience that I am having!?!

Enjoy!

OBSESSED: FIDDLE-LEAF FIG TREES

I am very very obsessed with the idea of having a green thumb. I think people who can keep plants alive are truly magical. Unfortunately, I do not possesses that particular set of skills. I like to think it makes me try harder to have a green thumb, and I have an even greater appreciation for the people who do.

I am also obsessed with certain kinds of plants. As you may have seen on our Instagram account, we feature a lot of peonies and succulents. The thing I have not shown on there, but I have a particular soft spot in my heart for is the Fiddle Leaf Fig.

The Fiddle Leaf Fig is such a beautiful balance between tame house plant and wild rain forest.

Anyways, I was feeling a little guilty about my lack of featuring them on the our Instagram, so they get their very own post! For more Fiddle Leaf Figs than the ones below- check out our Pinterest board dedicated to these beauties!
