That's where we come in. I'm not saying we are experts (or maybe gurus- or no! cubicle whisperers- yeah! that's it!) but certainly we can give a few pointers and advice.
Step 1: Pictures. This will help brighten the space, give it some personality and charm. Pictures can be of anything you choose- family and friends, pets or even things you find inspirational (as shown below).

Step 2: Plant(s). You can do this to the extent you feel comfortable with (i.e. real vs. fake). A helpful hint to those who have decided upon the living- a woman in my office told me once that Diet Coke is the only thing you should ever feed office plants (apparently they crave it? Or maybe it's the weird chemicals- who knows!). If you are not as daring, a nice fake one can suffice (as shown below)
Step 3: Knick-Knacks. This category is a little more difficult to explain, only because it is so open ended. There are certain things you should choose to place around you, that will inspire you to do your best work- figurines, awards, etc.. Anything can basically apply as a knick-knack, so the category is a little more undefined. Sorry- I'm not very helpful.
Step 4: Office Supplies. I feel as though this category is the underdog of most cubicles. There are SO many amazing office supplies out there today, that it is my belief you should not just settle for the boring black stapler and grey tape dispenser provided for you- get something fun you don't mind staring at for 8+ hours a day!
What do you cubicles/office spaces look like?
